Sport Med North
We have relaxed restrictions on the number of patients we are seeing in person. Mondays through Thursdays we now see many patients in the office. We insist that you wear a mask in the office. We were mainly doing phone calls to contact patients, however that has changed to typically Fridays only.
If you are scheduled for an appointment, call us before coming inside as we are still trying to limit the number of patients inside the office at any one time. We really want to enforce a maximum of 1-2 patients only in our waiting room. Wear a surgical grade mask or we will provide you with one. Use hand sanitizer once you enter and get your temperature checked by our staff.
With a doctor and some patients and staff who may be at greater risk of respiratory illness, we will still see most patients in the office. However if you have a fever / cough / respiratory illness, the best place for you to be assessed is at https://www.oakvalleyhealth.ca/clinics-departments/covid-19-cold-and-flu-care-clinic or at a similar clinic at a hospital near your home or workplace.
Oak Valley Health is the new corporate name for Markham Stouffville Hospital and the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.
Please ensure that both your nose and mouth are covered unless instructed by the doctor to remove your mask.
Since the start of the pandemic, availability of many health services, prompt referral appointments and indeed many medications at your pharmacy, has been restricted beyond our control. Please be extra courteous with our staff as they are trying their hardest to meet your health needs.
Dr. Carson is proud to inform patients that the Proactive Preventative Care Program in our office has been awarded a Quality and Innovation award by the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. Patients schedule a phone screening call with Carolyn (PC1) and then after tests are completed, you come into the office for a shorter PC2 visit with Dr. Carson. In this way we can provide you with the best advice on screening tests, immunizations and healthy lifestyle choices, so that together we can optimize your health.

Annual Health Assessment: 30 minutes
If a patient has a problem that will require a long visit, the front desk must be informed at the time of booking.
Patients must bring and present a valid (green - NOT red and white) OHIP card to all visits. The government will not cover medical services for anyone without a valid health card. For non-OHIP patients, fees have to be paid prior to leaving the office after seeing the doctor. Official receipts are provided, upon request.
Until the pandemic, we had an ANNUAL SERVICE FEE of $80 per family or $60 per individual (both plus HST). We will request that any message for our office BE PRECEDED by a phone call so that we can provide you with a PIN for added message security. When we request information from patients (i.e blood pressure charts or photos), we will similarly provide you with a PIN so these can be conveyed by you to us in a secure manner. DO NOT gmail health questions as it is just not a secure platform. In most cases you should call our office to book an appointment. Messaging our office:
